The exhibition “Face of Leonardo: Images of a Genius” consists of 55 portraits of Leonardo da Vinci, which belong to some of the top private collections. “All 55 paintings in the venue are authentic pieces and they are very rare and precious. Once these works are damaged, they are permanently damaged.” and unfortunately, the last one has happened.

A 12-year-old Taiwanese boy tripped and accidentally punched a hole straight through a 350-year-old oil painting of Paolo Porpora, valued at $1.5 million. The organisers won’t be asking the boy or family to foot the bill, since it was an accident and the painting is insured. Let’s see how the restoration team will fix it.

Watch footage of the accident, as well as photos of the painting, below.
