ABSALON: Presentation of the catalog and lecture

On February 24 the catalog accompanying the extensive retrospective of ABSALON will be released at KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin . This publication is the first to ever offer illustrations of all the artist’s work and theoretical essays covering Absalon’s entire oeuvre.
Absalon’s initial name was Meir Eshel; he adopted the pseudonym Absalon after moving to Paris in the late 1980’s. In the short time before his sudden death at the age of 28, he engaged himself with space and created a group of works like ‘Proposal for Everyday Objects’ and ‘Proposals for Habitats’.

Philip Ursprung professor for Art and Architectural History at ETH Zurich will give a lecture called ‘Design of the In/human: Absalon and the Spaces of Depression’.

The exhibition ABSALON is on view at KW until March 6, 2011.

The catalog can also be ordered through info@kw-berlin.de
