Artful sandcastles by Calvin Seibert

calvin-3

The majority of people have tried at least one time in their lives to build a sandcastle. But Calvin Seibert has managed to transform this playful habit into real art. Based in New York, the artist who has been working as a sculptor’s assistant for the last 30 years builds abstract sculptures with impressive geometrical and angular features by operating some of his acquired skills in sculpture and basic carpentry.

Seibert states: “Building “sandcastles” is a bit of a test. Nature will always be against you and time is always running out. Having to think fast and to bring it all together in the end is what I like about it.”
