“Illuminated Code From Space” by Haari Tesla

cosmos1

A microscopic world is created by Haari Tesla thanks to a quite simple technique called Tilt-Shift. The Italian artist by digitally adjusting the depth of field, the contrast and by adding a gradient managed to transform the vast world of galaxies and nebulaes into tiny microorganisms.

Fundamental idea for this collection titled “Illuminated Code From Space” has been the Neo-platonic schema of macrocosm and microcosm. Plato described as macrocosm the universe while as microcosm everything ranging from the man to the smallest particle.

After watching some tilt-shifting examples, Tesla wanted to try and experiment with this technique and chose to use publicly distributed pictures depicting the infinite universe. She is really interested in combing science with art, fact that is shown through this collection.
