“Infinity Mirrored Room – The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away” by Yayoi Kusama

A small cubic room walled with mirrors and surrounded by water was transformed into an infinity galaxy with the use of 75 small LED lights. The visitors standing on a narrow platform on the water and with the inviolable rule that did not allow them to enter the room in groups of more than three people had the opportunity to enjoy the experience of an infinite world of flickering lights for just 45 seconds.

Behind the famous “Infinity Mirrored Room-Τhe Souls of Millions of Light Years Away” that conquered the social media and especially Instagram, is the Japanese 84-year-old, avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama. This captivating room is part of the exhibition named “I Who Have Arrived In Heaven” that was held in the David Zwirner Gallery in New York. The exhibition the display of 27 large scale paintings as well as another mirrored room, called “Love Is Calling” that included multicolored polka-dot tentacles that was shifting colors.

The attendance for this room was so large that the visitors in order to be able to enjoy this dazzling experience had to wait patiently in lines for 4 -6 hours.
