Parnassos – Contemporary Art Exhibition

 

The group exhibition of contemporary art entitled “Parnassos”, will be inaugurated today, May 7, 2012 in the exhibition hall of the Philological Society “Parnassos”, located at 8 Karytsi Street, on the square of St. George.

The exhibition is organized by DaDa Da Academy in cooperation with the Wiener Art Foundation and is supported by the Austrian Embassy. At the exhibition there are mainly ​​ young Greek artists who are showing their work, as well as, these have succeeded internationally, but also foreign artists living and working in Athens.

The exhibition’s title was chosen both to honor the Philological Society, which in three years is celebrating 150 years since it was first operated. Also, regarding the mountain of Parnassos, the exhibition is trying to make a connection between the hardship of climbing the mountain with the superhuman effort that the creative people have to overcome in order to succeed their objectives.

The participants are: Phaedon Anastasiadis, Nikos Arvanitis, Nanos Valaoritis, Giannis Varelas,  Kostis Velonis, Giorgos Georgakopoulos, Aris and Lakis Jonas / The Callas, Vaso Gkavaise, Dennis Kavallieratos, Vassilis Karouk, Em Kei & Nicolaich, Panos Koutrouboussis, Tjorg Douglas Beer, Margarita Bofiliou, Rallou Panayiotou, Panos Papadopoulos, Alexander Tzannes, Peter Touloudis, Edy Ferguson.

Opening hours: Daily 10.00-13.00 and 18.00-21.00. Closed at Sunday’s.
