Prada’s catwalk shows are never disappointing. The Italian fashion house, always has something new to offer to its selective crowd.
Here’s another indulging experience into the world of art and illustration. Michael Rock, the founder of the project, has yet another forward idea for the label’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection, named ‘In the Heart of the Multitude‘. The Mexican artists involved- Miles “El Mac” Gregor, Mesa, Gabriel Specter, Stinkfish, Detallante and Pierre Mornet, created murals, and illustrations inspired by politics.
Different artists with different styles, with street art and illustration as a common factor, create different interpretations of the collection.
Michael Rock says: “The fascinating aspect of this project was not only identifying and working with each individual, but imagining the work of all six together in conversation. In many ways this project contradicts the prevailing cultural condition where everyone is somewhere else, connecting through social media, emailing files, and talking by Skype. By insisting on real paintings instead of digital reproductions, Miuccia Prada is fostering the creative energy that can only happen when everyone is physically working together in one space. It’s a fundamentally different experience.”
The fascinating outcome of the show, proves him right.
