Billionaire and businessman Barry Biller is planning to built his own island at the Hudson River in Manhattan, New York. The island will be 10.000 square meters long and its cost is measured to reach at $170 million. Diller will raise the $140 million himself while $40 million will be donated from the city and other donors.

The structure of the island will sit in 300 concrete pylons, as if the island is floating above water. The island’s designers will create a curved face while they will let the sunlight reach the water, enchanting the possibility of developing a marine life.

If everything sticks to plan and Diller gets a permition and grants from New York State’s Department of Environmental Conservation and the Army Corp Engineers, the project will begin in 2016.
