John Malkovich Turns into Jean Paul Gaultier and Marily Monroe for Sandro Miller’s Photo Series

It all started when photographer Sandro Miller wanted to pay tribute to Irving Penn and recreated his portrait of Truman Capote. He then realized, that his frined John Malkovich, looked like the American writer. And thisi is how he created a portrait series, in which Malkovich poses as Marilyn Monroe, Jean Paul Gaultier and Andy Warhol, in what turned out to be a tribute to the most important photographers.

“For me, John is a beautiful, clean canvas ready for paint. He is extremely open minded, never fearful and always willing to go to places most actors of his caliber would avoid,” Miller wrote.

The exhibition Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich: Homage to Photographic Masters opens on Nomvember 7th and will be completed on January 31st, at the Catherine Edelman Gallery of Chicago.
