Back in 1996, a group of heroin addicts is followed by Danny Boyle down the Edinburgh streets, while they are trying to make their passage towards life. Almost 20 years after the fiilm’s release, the English director is about to make a remake of the indie film, with Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Johnny Lee Miller and the rest of the original cast, being part of it.

The film will be based on the sequel of 2002 of the homonymous novel of Irving Welsh, entitled Porno, where porn has replaced the heroes’ drug addiction.

Earlier this year, Ewan McGregor, when asked about his work with Boyle during the Edinburgh Film Festival, said: “I miss working with Danny, I did some of my best work with him and he’s one of my favourite directors I’ve worked with. There was some bad blood and ill feeling, but that’s all going now”. The two of them had fallen apart, when Boyle chose Leonardo DiCaprio over McGregor for the 2000 film, “The Beach”, for the role, that was initially written for the Scottish actor.

The film is expected in 2016.
