Halcyon Selects: St. Lucia – Before the Dive

St. Lucia is a new Brooklyn-based band of Jean-Philippe Grobler, whom I already have mentioned many months ago, introducing to you one of their first –almost unknown back then- wonderful single “All Eyes On You”, believing in their talent and waiting for them to shine during this year. Something they actually managed, a couple of months later by releasing their first proper self-titled EP via Neon Gold Records, with the single “We Got It Wrong” winning very good reviews and its beautiful video being hosted by the best music blogs and websites around the world. After that, their fame continued to rise thanks to articles on big music magazines such as NME and Billboard, and an invitation to participate in the famous SXSW Festival, giving a very successful gig, considered by many as one of this year’s best, while The Shins also called them to be the opening act in their recent concert in Terminal 5 of New York. Next single from the EP is one more great track, titled “Before the Dive”, which was selected as the opening track of the brand new compilation of Kitsuné named “Kitsuné America”, dedicated to the best new bands from the USA! The music video of the song premiered yesterday on The Guardian’s website and it is co-directed by Elliot Sellers and Carlos Lopez Estrada. For those who wish to download their new remixed EP for free, you can do so in exchange for a “like” on their official Facebook fan page.
