2014 will see Sonar Festival of Advanced Music & New Media Art enter it’s 21st year as Barcelona’s hottest international festival.
‘Created in 1994, Sónar is a pioneering festival with a unique format and content. It’s first class reputation as a leading reference for international festivals is by virtue of a carefully balanced cultural offering, combining a playful nature, the avant-garde, and experimentation with electronic dance music’s newest trends.’ – Sonar website.
The festival promises to offer ‘the relationship between creativity, technology, mobility, innovation and business more transparent and accessible.’, and it does appear, when one peruses it’s decorative programme, that it does just that, and more. It’s previous line-ups boast their artists proudly, with The Chemical Brothers, Beastie Boys, and Bjork (to name just a few) proving that at Sonar there is something for everybody. This year’s line-up similarly pleasing:

Sonar makes it clear that it is not just a music festival, however. The event plays host to all manner of new-art/media exhibitions and showings that will give any guest the aural and visual overdrive they’ve been needing.
This year’s full pass is priced at 195 euros.

We hope to see you at Sonar 2014.
“Music festivals: how it should be done (…) Sonar festival of ‘advanced music and multimedia art’ is built on a virtually faultless formula of sunny, never ending days and classy network of slickly run venues, snugly housed within Barcelona historic and stylish landscape. It sets a standard that Sonar’s peers find near impossible to follow.”
