Santa Cruz Skateboards Reach Settlement With Jeremy Scott

Almost six months on from the first presentation of fashion designer Jeremy Scott‘s A/W ’13 collection, a settlement has been reached between the brand and skate company Santa Cruz Skateboards, who claimed Scott ripped off their designs. The settlement sees Scott agree not to produce or distribute any of the offending items, but Bob Denike (CEO of NHS Inc. – the mother company of Santa Cruz Skateboards) refused to comment on whether or not a financial agreement had been reached. The official statement from Jeremy Scott reads: “I regret that certain pieces of my February 2013 Fall Winter fashion line incorporated imagery that was similar to images owned by NHS and Messrs. Phillips. I now recognize my mistake and out of respect to their work and their rights, the clothing and handbags at issue will not be produced or distributed.”
