There aren’t many female fashion designers doing menswear. Sissi Goetze is gladly one of those few. The Central Saint Martins-trained German designer who drew everybody’s attention after showing her almost surgical all white and all shirting graduate collection at London Fashion Week in 2010, has become a name to watch in the Berlin fashion scene. For her AW13 collection Goetze showed 12 complete looks challenging the fine balance between formal- and sportswear. Refined coats, structured woollen pants and jockey hats appeared in shades of grey, blue, bordeaux and black. Smooth, solid and disciplined Sissis Goetze’s colletion has been a silent ode to masculine comfort and elegance.
