“Spirited Away”‘s Animator Makiko Futaki Passes Away

Τhe 57-year-old has worked for all Studio Ghibli‘s top movies.

The animator passed away on May 13th in Tokyo, where she was hospitalized for an unknown reason. She had been working for the studio for 3 decades and except for Oscar-winning Spirited Away, she was credited in movies such as Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro and Studio Ghibli‘s latest one, When marnie Was There, which will be soon released.

Makiko Futaki was born on June 19, 1958.
