Young and self-taught Kyle Thompson gives life to the images created by his imaginations through the lens of his camera. The 22-year-old photographer from Chicago captures the stories he wants to narrate and the strong feelings created by them. In his atmospheric conceptual and usually haunting pictures, Thompson is most of the times the lead character transforming them into unique self-portraits.
Thompson said in a interview performed by the Daily Beast: “I started taking self-portraits because I enjoyed going out alone. It was easiest because I am always available and I wanted some way to channel my emotions. I felt self-portraits were the most personal.”
Last couple of years, Thompson’s work has gained great publicity and recognition while some of his photographs are featured in major sites and magazines.
