[Can artificial light turn female body into a true work of art?]
When it is used by the French photographer, Dani Olivier, yes it can. Dani Olivier loves the female body for its curves, its timelessness, its flawless beauty. Fond of colored light and geometric shapes, he shines the light on women’s naked bodies, using only projectors and a dark studio. He usually hires dancers to pose for him, while he is interested in women’s body and its curves so deeply, that their facial features – and even their face which is often absent from his work – leave him indifferent. The result? A remarkable work of art, flirting with surrealism, without a trace of deliberate provocation.
