Video: Timelapse of a Supercell Storm in Texas

After four years of storm chasing, photographer and filmmaker Mike Olbinski finally managed to record a timelapse film of a rotating supercell storm. The footage was shot in the Central Plains of Texas after chasing the storm through hail and torrential rain. When they burst out through the other side, Olbinski says “this monster cloud was hanging over Texas and rotating like something out of Close Encounters.” The timelapse was recorded using a Canon 5D Mark II and a Rokinon 14mm f/2.8. Check it out above.
