A modular self-phone that can be completely customized based to its owners needs is Google’s new venture. “Project Ara”, the new-generation smartphone consists of a basic chassis provided by Google that can be built up with third-party hardware and may hit markets by next year.
The basic chassis that is planned to cost about 50 USD will come only with wi-fi compatibility while the other functional components can be chosen by the user according to his desires. For example someone could choose more storage or better battery capacity. Of course, this would raise the device’s cost in a very high level.
