G-Star RAW: Ocean Night at NYFW

G-Star RAW and companies Bionic Yarn and Parley for the Oceans send their own messge via New York Fashion Week. Fighting against oceans’ pollution by plastics, they presented the second Raw for the Oceans collection, during an underwater show in New York. Co-designer Pharel Williams performed on stage during the Ocean Night event, the closing performance of which was by Floria Schneider, founding member of Kraftwerk.

Liquid projections on the walls, ceiling and floor created an aquarium feeling, whilst the aquarium-like showcases specially designed for the event, added an enlagrgement effect to the garments, the first denims created by recycled ocean plastics. “We are using Bionic’s yarn to create the next generation of denim. To make this happen, we have turned our whole supply chain upside down by starting with the raw material”.
