Jake Fried’s trippy hand-drawn animations (video)

Jake Fried is a Boston-based artist whose hand-drawn animations, or as he prefers to call them, “moving paintings,” are incredibly impressive and trippy. He uses white-out, gouache, ink and coffee to add elements on layer over layer. Every detail of his work is shown in his mini animation videos, starting from the original sketch lines to the finished image. His psychedelic and spiritual drawings have been screened at the Tate Modern in London, Sundance Film Festival as well as during Cartoon Network’s late night Adult Swim programming bloc.
