Barry Underwood’s light installations could be the scenic of a science fiction movie. Influenced by his theatrical background and contemporary art, the 51-year-old American photographer is using LED lights, luminescent materials and other photographic techniques. The result is mysterious environments, that are on the borderline of real and dreamy.
“My work is examining community and land exploitation in rural, suburbian and urban environments.’, says the artist of his surrela and simultaneously, familiar images. He is researching the industrial and rural history of each area, in order to reveal its beauty and the potential of each common scenery.
His work has been awarded and has been presented in many exhibitions, bothpersonal and group, in the USA and Canada.
