American born designer and CSM graduate Joseph Nigoghossian joins a new project, Bracken a contemporary ready to wear brand that was launched in early 2013. Bracken is mainly majority an accessory and luxury casual wear brand which crosses the boundaries between womenswear and menswear, not necessarily androgynous but with a deep unisex feel, the sort of clothes that a girl would steal from her boyfriend’s wardrobe. The concept behind the brand is heavily influenced by the combination of the dynamism of New York and the eclecticism of London, two cities that the designer lived in, in the past. For the autumn/winter collection 2013, Nigoghossian approaches couture techniques applied to a combination of sport/street/military-wear. Leather hoodies, tailored nylon trousers, silk video-print t-shirts and a full range of leather accessories has bags and caps take on the collections main colors of black and peach. Where to buy?
Bracken stocks in east London underground concept boutique, Primitive London. However the brand plans to open flagships stores in new York and London for the next summer.
