What is reality? This is the question that dominates the sixth Berlin bienniale for contemporary art in a time that everybody has a different view on the harsh reality. From June 11 to August 8, six of the most popular galleries in Berlin will be the meeting point for numerous artistic positions on the present.
The photographic works of Michael Schmidt, who lived in the second half of the nineteenth century, a time of crisis, agitation and fear, such as ours, will engage in a lively conversation with other important artists, such as Adolph Menzel, one of the greatest realists of the nineteenth century, and 24-years-old Petrit Halilaj, the youngest artist of the Berlin Biennale.
