Art paintings that illustrate furniture can actually be transformed into real furniture if you just lean them against the wall. The project named “Canvas” created by the Japanese design studio YOY was first presented at the Salone Satellite during Milan Design Week 2013. The two-dimensional hanging furniture pieces are constructed out of wood and aluminum while the volume is covered by an elastic fabric that can withstand the weight of a person. The “Canvas” furniture come in three different sizes and designs that illustrate a sofa, an armchair and a chair.
