In an effort to raise awareness for skin cancer, Somerset House and photographer Brock Elbank created a photography exhibition starring the beard!
The famous photographer who has been classed as the Beard Photographer, showcases the most impressive beards from all over the world with most of them attached to the faces of actors such as John Hurt, models such as Ricky Hall, as well as tattoo artist Gavin Turk. This idea originally came from Elbank’s cooperation in Australia with his friend who ran a charity for people who suffer from skin cancer, while proposing men to grow beards.
Despite the fact that the beard is back in the spotlight as a fashion accessory, Elbank states that it is not about the beard but about the person who wears it.
The exhibition is taking place from 5 until 29 March 2015 daily from 10:00-18:00 at Terrace Rooms, South Wing with free admission.
