The colourful photo collage of André Vicente Gonçalves, full of doors and house windows in different countries is a registered trademark of his journeys around the world. Thus, they undoubtedly have an architectural significance.
Small details make the difference. The Portuguese photographer seems to know that well and in both of his works – “Doors of the world” and “Windows of the world” – he presents us exactly with whatever its title suggests: doors and windows of houses in different countries, apt to reveal not only the architecture, but also the history of each one of them and, therefore, can’t help taking us to another place only with the help of a photo.
The only thing you have to do, is spot the differences.
