In Orbit is actually a two bedroom apartment. One is placed inside the hamster wheel and the other one on the outside. Artist Ward Shelley and Alex Schweder from the “Social Relationship Architecture Project” decided to construct this artificial home in order to see how it feels to live in total control of all actions, for 10 days.
The two had to be extremelly carefull of every movement since any mishap would lead to the construction going out of balance as well as the man on the outside falling off the wheel. No basic home furnishings and components were missing. Ward and Alex gave a perfectly coordinated architectural performance, at the Boiler gallery in New York. Watch the video below.
