Light skeletons and humanoid creatures that look like mummies come alive through Janne Parviainen’s pictures. The Finnish photographer uses a very long exposure setting on his camera and a neon-colored light source that is used as a paint brush in order to create these captivating images without the use of any digital editing such as photoshop.
Through his personal website the artist states:”What interests me most in light painting is the ability to draw in three dimensional space and the possibility to alter the reality without post processing programs. I like to use in my photos different kind of figures such as skeletons and ghostly light creatures. By using these figures I can add more humane stories into my photos and alter the cultural learned feelings they cause in the viewer of the photo”.
