A small loft, with an almost 39.5 square meter footprint in Manhattan was transformed by Specht Harpman Architects firm into a spacious fully equipped and functional house. The loft is located in the sixth storey of a building with narrow vertical layout, fact that considerably complicated the ability to utilize the entire available space. But actually, the architects managed to resolve that problem by designing the apartment into four separate “living platforms” while even the space under the stairways is exploided with buit in storage cabinetry and drawers.

Through their official website the architects state: “The apartment was one of the most unusual residential renovation projects we’ve ever been involved with. As it existed, the arrangement was so awkward that there wasn’t even a reasonable place to locate a bed or couch… Given the minuscule size of the apartment, every inch of space is put to use.”
