Mary Katrantzou with her characteristic prints, as one of the new stars of fashion, comes to show us her line for SS12 in one of the most expensive magazines in the world, Nomenus Quarterly. Erik Madigan Heck, photographer from New York, has been closely monitoring her progress and is excited about her surrealistic prints does a photo shoot for the current Nomenus Quarterly.Heck is inspired by portraits such as Frida Kahlo’s, a feminist art figure with similar surreal works.
Since Katrantzou’s clothes are rarely photographed outside the catwalk this collaboration between Katrantzou and Heck is particularly important. We see a series of eight images where each scene is a direct reaction to Katrantzou clothes by Heck’s careful study of the lighting to achieve this impressive visual effect.
