Despite effots and innovations proposed by multiple designers and electronics companies, the world of fashion finds difficulty in accepting wearable technology and its products, given the fact that so far, there is no product that can conform to consumers’ needs and demands, and combine form and function, in a successful way. Opening Ceremony though, seems to have made it and in collaboration with Intel, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim create MICA, a bracelet with semi-precious jewels and covered with snake skin. It must be the first wearable tech piece aesthetically autonomous, even though Intel has not announced yet its technological potential.
The first campaign of this collaboration was shot by Collier Schott and Kirsten Owen and Ajak Deng are the faces of it, while MICA will be presented for the first time during the Opening Ceemony show on Sunday for the New York Fashion Week.
