Mark Khaisman is an artist from Kiev, Ukraine. His art is like no other. This man can create images using brown packaging tape, layered on clear acrylic panels. He works and live in Philadelphia, by reproducing famous paintings or scenes from vintage Hollywood films. He uses a sort of not so modern means to create a modern canvas. The more layers he uses, the less light shines through, creating a huge variety of depth, shadow and definition with extreme architectural. This is no accident of course, since Khaisman studied Art and Architecture in the Moscow Architectural Institute, graduating in 1983, and has a heavy bio in architectural practice, puppet animation and stained glass design. He hadn’t found himself taken into fine arts till 2004.
