Sometimes ordinary life can be a bit boring and we seem to crave for something unexpected, don’t we? No worries! Tokyo-based design studio YOY with its ingenious and fun designs can transform ordinary to extraordinary!
Design studio ΥΟΥ – that means ‘good’ – was founded in 2011 by space designer Naoki Ono and product designer Yuki Yamamoto. True experts of the ‘unexpected factor’, their designs is a fun narrative of a story that is well hidden somewhere between space and the product itself. That is the case of the project CANVAS: at first sight, all you can see is a painting with drawings of a stool, an armchair and a sofa leaning against a wall but as you take a step closer, you will be amazed to find out that is an actual stool, armchair and a sofa! Yeah, that’s right!
CANVAS seating is actually a frame made of wood and aluminum which is covered by an elastic fabric printed with texture of a canvas and a drawing of chair.
Pretty unexpected, right?
