Jan Kempenaers is most known for his large-scale, panoramic and detailed images of industrial and urbanized landscapes in Europe and Japan. In his book Spomenik (literally ‘monument’) launched this Augusts, Kempenaers presents a series of pictures from large abstract architectural monuments erected by the communist regime of former Yugoslavia.
