Finnish, London-based designer Kirsi Enkovaara challenges the user to explore their environment, engage to it and understand their everyday their everyday objects, through interaction with them. The 31-year-old Royal College of Arts graduate has designed the The Body chair(?), which works in such way. It changes according to each one’s needs.
It is more of a canvas structure, that gains its plasticity thanks to the rice, with which the 6-meter fabric is filled. The seat can bend, fold and have whichever shape the user wants, so as to feel comfortable. It encourages the user to find the right position, based on the idea that the most “sincere” way of sitting, is not always the best one and most comfortable for one’s body.
