A beautifully crafted font with rustic features is created 200 years ago and is titled “The Landscape Alphabet”. Landscapes depicting in great detail stone bridges, lighthouses, woods, rivers and even castles form each one of the alphabet’s 26 characters creating delicate and elegant art pieces of historic value.
The 19 century collection is created by British L.E.M Jones. Unfortunately, little is known for the artist’s identity but his work managed to survive to this day thanks to lithographic printer and publisher Charles Joseph Hullmandel who printed them. Born in London, Hullmandel was one of the most important figures in the development of British lithography not only as a publisher but also as a creator.
