Halcyon Selects: Roxy Music – Love Is The Drug (Todd Terje Disco Dub)

This time there should be no need for a special introduction, but for those who are still unaware, Roxy Music has been one of the most important and successful art / glam rock group of the 70s. They provided a model for many New Wave acts, while they have been also highly influential, as leading proponents of glam, as well as a significant influence on early English punk music. Today, 30 years later, they continue to inspire contemporary musicians, having as recent example two space-disco Norwegian masters, Todd Terje and Lindstrom & Prins Thomas. On January 30, The Vinyl Factory released a 12″ single featuring remixes for the song “Love Is The Drug”, a cut from the band’s 1975 album “Siren”, and “Avalon”, which was the title track of the band’s last album on 1982. A couple of days ago, a video clip by Ferry Gow has being released for “Love Is The Drug”, which is actually a re-edited version of the official video, having some additional sequences and colorful graphics that fit perfectly the disco funk uplifting Terje’s version of the song.
