The photographer David Black, between working on travel photography and dramatic landscapes, shoots musicians including Cat Power, John Legend, Coco Rosie, Nas, Raphael Saadiq and plenty more. His images are often romantic and poetic, with lots of soft lighting and natural rays from the sun, but also bounce between sharp and almost retro-tinged. After he studied at The Cooper Union and San Francisco Art Institute, Photo District News selected David as one of 30 emerging photographers to watch in 2011, Print Magazine named David as a top New Visual Artist under 30 and he was included in the Art Directors Club of New York “Young Guns” Show and Book.
