Digitaria’s A/W 09 collection was shot in the south of Greece by Yiorgos Mavropoulos. The collection is inspired by the origins of “gender illusionists” and the Great Depression years. On one side the acceptance of individuality is explored and then from the other, change and growth, the ergonomic standards and blocks of an era. The A/w 09 collection refers to British homosexuality and theatrical circles in the 1st half of the 20th century, utility clothing, ‘Dragging the Forties” collection actually reflects nowadays, the economy and the way to avoid misery. Main characteristics of the collection in terms of fabric, pattern and design are a combination-contrast between lightweight, heavyweight, thick, thin, exaggeration and utility.
The men’s collection is ironically subtitled “Hard workers” with light and delicate fabrics that create powerful strict shapes.
