The Proenza Schouler duo: Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are proud to have won the trophy of Best Womenswear Designer of the Year, at last night’s CFDA Awards. It’s actually the third time they get this award, leaving the acknowledged Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs behind.
Riccardo Tisci snached the International Award for his work at the French high fashion house of Givenchy, as a creative director since for about 8 years. “It’s a dream come true you know, I’m Italian and since I was a kid, my big obsession was America. To be recognized in America…was one of the biggest gifts of my career,” says Tisci.
As for Menswear Designer of the Year, Thom Browne won- while Phillip Lim was awarded in the Accessories Designer category and Oscar de la Renta got the Eleanor Lambert Founders Award by the hands of Hillary Clinton.
