While designing, Cédric Charlier thinks of a sensual woman. This time she is set on a Greek island, as he claims to have been inspired by one recent trip to the country. Aegean’s blue in combination with Greek summer’s hot sun are the designer’s designing inspiration. The garments are slim and comfortable, pleated and transparent at times. “The country’s heat made me searcch for the finest fabrics”, he said.
Cedric Charlier was born in Belgium and is a graduate of the school of Visual Arts of Brussels. In 1998, after his participation at the “Fashion Moet Hennessy” competition, he started working for Céline for a couple of years, and he later moved to Alber Elbaz’s team for Lanvin, where he worked for 6 years. Four years ago, he founded his own self-named womenswear brand, which was presented for the first time during Paris Fashion Week in 2012.
