Part Nouveau Blog, or ‘partly new’, after a thorough research on art, photography and  design — has come up with some pretty cool facts that prove the existence of today’s biggest trends long ago. Lilah Ramzi, founder of the blog shares some of the greatest moments.

Edith Piaf always sang wearing a pair of rose-colored round glasses, but it was John Lennon who made a trend of circular frames in different colours. After his assassination, said glasses were even seen as a symbol of peace.

John Lennon’s 1974 record, titled  “Walls and Bridges” featured his portrait shot by Bob Gruen, wearing several pairs of round glasses. That was the inspiration behind Elle Italia‘s April 2011 issue, featuring model Hana Soukupova photographed by Alexei Hay in the same way as Lennon, for an editorial titled “Eye on You.”
