Six Lee: S/S MMXIV Collection
“We ‘re all accepting the love we think we deserve…”
Take all my loves, my love, yea, take them all;
What hast thou then more than thou hadst before?
No love, my love, that thou mayst true love call;
All mine was thine before thou hadst this more.
Then if for my love thou my love receivest,
I cannot blame thee for my love thou usest;
But yet be blamed, if thou thyself deceivest
By wilful taste of what thyself refusest.
I do forgive thy robbery, gentle thief,
Although thou steal thee all my poverty;
And yet, love knows, it is a greater grief
To bear love’s wrong than hate’s known injury.
Lascivious grace, in whom all ill well shows,
Kill me with spites; yet we must not be foes. — By William Shakespeare.
The Belgian fashion designer Six Lee, is known to the Ozon Raw audience through his participation at the fifth 4FASHIONSHAKE, that was held in April 2012 at the Pallas Theatre. We have just received his look book, where he composes his brand new S/S 2014 collection and it was absolutely breath-taking. His main inspiration was the Finish photographer/painter Niko Luoma. A series of mind-blowing outfits, that combines the finesse of an aristocratic costume, found only in the 19th century dandy, with the modesty of a worker’s clothing. The color blue and its varying shades, appears to consist once more the main palette of the designer, while a knife, a ghost and a gun create sophisticated prints. The silhouette is strictly geometric, giving that way a most dramatic flair to the collection. Always combining the finest materials with a refining figure, Six Lee created clothes that are not only “protecting” the body but also the SOUL, and as he says: “Love is a battle, love is a war; love is a growing up”.
