Business of Fashion has completed the first Global Fashion School Evalutation for year 2015 and the results are not that unexpected. The English Central Saint Martins takes the first place, followed by the Japanese Bunka Fashion College and the English Kingston University.
The ranking is based on 3 factors: global influence (30%), learning experience (35%) and long-term value (35%), with the Central Saint Martins making an impressive 95%. Among the 21 places of the ranking, there are 6 English schools, 7 schools from the USA, 2 Italian, and 1 from Canada, Israel, Australia, China, the Netherlands, and -of course- Japan. What is really impressive though is the lack of a French school -maybe if the criteria was the location as well, there would have been one- and of the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts, graduates of which are some of the most important fashion designers of the day, such as Viktor & Rolf, Haider Ackermann and Martin Margiela.
