Victoria and Albert Museum, presents the exhibition: ” The glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014″, from the 5th of April until the 27th of July.
It examines Italy’s transition from post-war ruins onto a huge name in the fashion industry.Having as a landmark ‘Sala Bianca’s’ catwalk showsin Florence in the 1950s, it presents how Italian fashion was exportedto the world stage.
During the ’50s and ’60s many Hollywood filmswere shot in Italy and as a result, theyhad an enormous impact on fashion in stars like: Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. These two women, became style ambassadors for Italian fashion, fuelling an international keen for luxurious clothing made in Italy. One can see on display, ensembles and accessories by leading Italian fashion houses includingSimonetta, Pucci, Sorelle Fontana, Valentino, Gucci, Missoni, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Marni, Fendi, Prada and Versace.
