Waiting for July 3rd and the long-awaited premiere of Amy Winehouse’s documentary entitled Amy, we received the first reactions from the family of the famous singer.

Unhappy declare Winehouse’s relatives on the outcome, since they consider that the film is not balanced and has incomplete information about her life. More specifically, they claim that her father, Mitch, is presented incorrectly pushing his daughter to appear on stage instead of helping her overcome the problem.

Besides all these, there are allegations that the narrative is formed by the testimony of a narrow sample of Amy’s associates, many of whom had nothing to do with her in the last years of her life “I felt sick when I saw it for the first time.” said Mitch. “Amy would be furious. This is not the result she would have wanted.”

Despite these intense words though, the directors of Amy state “We started this project with the full support of the Winehouse family and approached her life with absolute objectivity. We conducted in the region of 100 interviews with people who knew Amy. The story that the film says is a reflection of our findings from these interviews. ”

Nevertheless the family is now considering the possibility of legal action against the creators.
