A kinetic sculpture mimicking raindrops

A small wooden automaton created by Dean O’Callaghan can mimic the movements of a droplet when hitting a body of water. Based in the U.K, the designer was inspired by American artist Reuben Heyday Margolin and created this construction which moves gracefully thanks to a manual mechanism. The piece is using concentric wooden rings, all carved by hand and a hand crack.
