During August 2013, a beautiful abandoned fort in the middle of Thames was reportedly on sale. It was on market for £500,000, but it was finally purchased for £100,000 less than the initial price by an anonymous buyer. The buyer, wanted to remain anonymous, until planning permission to renovate the property is approved.
The building was built in 1860 in the middle of the Thames Estuary and a builder bought it 10 years ago. He reported that it hadn’t work out as a safe place for home. In any way the new fort owner hit the best deal, buying this place as a bargain, considering how much a house costs in London.
