BUS: when bus stops are more than just a bench

BUS is the bus station that mmmm… have designed in Baltimore, as part of TRANSIT, a creative collaboration between the USA city and Europe. And it can not be thought of as a conventional station. It declares its identity, since it consists of  the three letters of the word. Made of wood and steel -two materials commonly used for urban furniture-, the three sculptures create the right space, so as to work both as a bench or leisure space. Waiting for the bus is almost inevitable, but thanks to BUS, it is not necessarily boring.

The team mmmm… consists of Emilio Alarcón, Alberto Alarcón, Ciro Márquez and Eva Salmerón, and they have been practicing urban design in Madrid since 1998.
